The IBRC was delighted to host an experiential learning event led by postdoc Dr. Kunalan Manokara for students in the Science of Happiness course. During this hands-on session, students stepped directly into the role of research participants by taking part in a mock well-being study designed to illustrate how behavioral research is conducted.
Using the IBRC’s dedicated research space and technology resources, students experienced each stage of the research process — from participating in the study to viewing and interpreting the results together as a class. The event offered a rare opportunity to see how well-being science is carried out behind the scenes while gaining a deeper appreciation for experimental design, data collection, and the tools used in behavioral research.
We’re excited to continue supporting immersive learning experiences that bring behavioral research to life for Duke students.
